Tell Betsy DeVos: Don’t Roll Back Protections for Victims of Campus Sexual Assault
We cannot afford to continue turning a blind eye to the epidemic of campus sexual assault.
One in five young women who attended college reported being sexually assaulted, according to a 2015 Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation survey. And widespread underreporting means the real number is likely even higher. But colleges and universities continue to sweep this problem under the rug – or even blame survivors – instead of taking action to make their campuses safer. And now Betsy DeVos is attempting to roll back critical Title IX protections that ensure victims know their rights.
We need to fight back against campus sexual assault by holding colleges and universities accountable, increasing transparency and giving schools new resources to support survivors.
