Tell Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and the Trump administration: Protect Grand Staircase-Escalante!
Last December, the Trump administration illegally acted to reduce two Utah monuments, placing us in the midst of the largest rollback of public lands in U.S. history. The rollback attempt would cut the beloved Grand Staircase-Escalante monument by almost half, setting a dangerous precedent for letting anyone in power abuse our natural resources. Not only did the Trump administration ignore the public’s will, indigenous cultures and archeological resources of Grand Staircase-Escalante, but now Zinke and the Department of the Interior are auctioning off these sacred lands to the dirty fossil fuel industry.
This new “resource management plan” will open large swaths of Grand Staircase-Escalante to dangerous coal and uranium mining, fracking and other dirty extraction practices.
Public lands exist for everyone to enjoy and explore, not to be exploited and destroyed by corporate polluters. Our coalition is speaking out against Zinke’s actions, but we need 100,000 people to join us and demand the Trump administration protect the irreplaceable Grand Staircase-Escalante monument.
Add your name now to demand Zinke and the Trump administration protect Grand Staircase-Escalante!
