Demand Congress put a moratorium on utility shutoffs during the coronavirus pandemic!

The coronavirus crisis has exposed the depth of inequality across our country. Already, millions of families are struggling to make ends meet – from paying rent or mortgages to affording basic necessities like food and water.

The COVID-19 pandemic has already put over 22 million people out of work, and this wave of unemployment is disproportionately affecting low-income households and communities of color. We can’t let our neighbors fall behind in this unprecedented crisis.

Now, more than ever, we need to make sure the most vulnerable have access to basic needs like electricity, water and internet utilities. We need to waive shutoffs and reinstate any services that have been canceled due to nonpayment.
